The Brief

Ski Famille wanted help to raise their brand profile, reduce late discounted bookings and gain market share from other travel operators in their sphere.

Our Approach

Ski Famille were not in the market for a full re-brand, but Fogo felt their current brand needed a refresh in order to bring it more in line with their competitors. We retained the existing logo, but introduced a more modern colour palette to advertising and other printed collateral.

Given the very specific nature of Ski Famille’s customer base, we encouraged Ski Famille to move away from producing a ‘one size fits all’ costly printed brochure and to focus more on their digital marketing, highlighting use of social channels, producing more online content and using invitation only events to aimed at their target market. We went to the Alps and produced a new corporate video highlighting all the best bits about holidaying with Ski Famille. We have also run press and blogger events including Mad Hatter’s tea at exclusive London hotel The Sanderson which have been a great success.

One of our Ski Famille prospect events was a fun day with free ski taster sessions for adults and children at one of the UK’s leading dry slopes. Members of the amazing Ski Famille resort childcare team were on hand to entertain the children that attended and some of their chalet chefs cooked up specialities such as tartiflette for visitors to try. There were on the spot competitions to win Zaini hats and a fabulous French food hamper and Ski Famille sales staff were available at all times to answer questions!

Results

The brand refresh helped raise awareness of the Ski Famille brand and the events – something Ski Famille had not previously considered -facilitated face to face conversations with prospective customers that led to increased bookings. Strategic advice offered during the consultation process also led to changes being made in the sales process that reduced late discounted bookings by c 10% in 2012.
